STOMP!
"Boom boom tick bam clash flick" "BANG!"- was what I heard a lot of last night at Stomp! You see that was my second time seeing Stomp, and I would see it ten more times in a heartbeat! The thing that I like the most about it was how much the actors-noise makers got into it. I mean don't get me wrong the sounds were amazing.........but the show just wouln't last without the acting of the performers! Acting just brings the music to life and it gets the audience excited and moving in their seats. I didn't dislike anything about the show at all. If I had to pick something to dislike though, it would probably be the little solos. There were not many solos and they were great sounds when they were taking place, but it was a lot more funny and exciting when the whole group was out there together! I love meeting the performers after the show. I liked how they shared the fact that they all switch part sometimes. I also liked learning about each one of them and learning how long they have been in Stomp. As I said this was my second time seeing this, and last time I was in fifth grade. I did recognize one or two of the performers from the last time. To me the only way that Stomp related to Greek or Kabuki theatre is because it is different from regular theatre. There really was no talking at all in Stomp and there was no singing. They made music with things you would not believe were possible to make music with. Something that I learned that would apply to our performance of Mulan was to always be big with your motions and lines, because these people were doing things as little as flicking little rectangle boxes, but they made those motions so incredibly big and that is why I think people like it.

HAHA I love your introduction! I have to say that I agree with you about being big; even with little objects in their hands, they made a big impression on what they were doing. Also what you said about the acting helping contribute to the music is so true; everytime they would make a nice beat and start moving, me Olivia and Duray couldn't help but to start moving our whole bodies!! And I think it's great that even though you had already seen it, you still loved it the second time around becuase I know that there are some shows that people can barely stand to see one time around!!
